Maruyama Kohaku | 46 cm
A clean, classic Kohaku from Maruyama Koi Farm in Japan. Simple, balanced and elegant, this is the variety most collectors start and finish with.
Pattern and colour
The hi (red) is deep and even, with crisp edges against the white. A large plate covers the head and shoulders and leaves the nose white. Two smaller patches follow down the back, one mid-body and one near the tail, giving a three-step (Sandan) pattern. The white skin is bright and clean from nose to tail, and the fins are clear.
Why this koi
– Classic Sandan pattern with good balance from head to tail
– Deep, even hi with sharp edges
