Kohaku – 43cm
A bright, classic Kohaku imported from Japan. Deep red plates, snow-white skin and a lively, flowing pattern.
The Pattern
A deep red plate covers the head, framed by a clean white nose. From the shoulders, a winding red plate flows down the body, giving the pattern movement and character. Smaller red plates sit near the dorsal fin and towards the tail, with white breaks keeping the design light and balanced.
Skin and Colour
The red is thick and even, darkest on the head, with clear edges against the white. The shiroji is bright, snow white, and the pectoral fins are pure white. The strong contrast between red and white makes this Kohaku stand out in any pond.
Why Kohaku
Kohaku is the foundation of the koi hobby: just red and white, with nothing to hide behind. A good Kohaku is timeless, and at 43cm this fish has plenty of growing ahead.
