Maruhide Doitsu Kohaku | Male | 45 cm SKU: OGT-DOI-KOH-MRH-M-45-2601-020

A male Maruhide Doitsu Kohaku — the scaleless German-line variant of one of Japan’s most refined varieties. The Doitsu line runs cleanly down the back with the characteristic row of larger scales along the lateral line, giving the fish the smooth, graphic appearance that Doitsu collectors specifically prize. The Hi (red) is deep and saturated, laid out in a striking asymmetric pattern — a single shoulder dot, a smaller back marking, and a bold concentrated Hi plate wrapping the front of the body and onto the face.
The Shiroji (white) is exceptionally clean and bright. This matters more on Doitsu fish than on standard Kohaku, because the lack of scaling means any blemish or unevenness in the white reads instantly. The smoothness of the Shiroji here, combined with the disciplined edges where Hi meets white, is the marker of a serious breeder.
Doitsu Kohaku appeals to a distinct collector segment — buyers drawn to cleaner, more graphic patterns that read clearly at distance in a pond setting. The variety is also popular among hobbyists who appreciate the lower maintenance of the scaleless coat. The body shows clean conformation with good shoulders and a strong tail tube. Maruhide is one of the Niigata breeders producing Kohaku at a consistently high level, and the Doitsu work coming out of their bloodlines reflects that lineage.
