A Momotaro Kohaku imported from Japan — and a fish that doesn’t need much introduction once you see it. The pattern is a balanced two-step Nidan, with a clean shoulder break between the front and rear plates and a strong wrap onto the head and face. The Hi is the deep, saturated red Momotaro is known for — even tone, no patchiness, no bleed into the white. The Shiroji is bright and unblemished, which is what really separates a serious Kohaku from a good one.
The body is straight with strong shoulders, good volume through the midsection, and a clean tail tube. At 48cm she’s already a presence, with plenty of development still ahead.
Momotaro Koi Farm is one of the most respected names in Niigata, with a Kohaku bloodline that’s been refined across decades specifically for the qualities visible here — deep Hi, sharp pattern edges, and the kind of white finish that holds its brightness as the fish matures.
