A male Dainichi Toyota Kohaku with a striking lightning-step Inazuma pattern — Hi running in a continuous zigzag down the body rather than breaking into separate plates. The Hi is deep and saturated with strong colour density, and the Shiroji is exceptionally bright, providing the contrast that makes an Inazuma pattern read cleanly from any angle.
The pattern shows good rhythm and balance — the Hi opens widely at the shoulder, narrows through the midsection, and opens again toward the tail, giving the fish visual movement that step patterns can’t match. Inazuma Kohaku are less common than the more standard Nidan or Sandan layouts, and a well-executed lightning pattern of this kind takes a confident eye to select for at intake.
