Momotaro Kohaku – 41cm
A bold, classic Kohaku from Momotaro Koi Farm in Okayama, Japan. Deep red plates, bright white skin and a clean finish at the tail.
The Pattern
A strong red head flows straight into the shoulder step. A white break crosses the back behind the shoulders. A large second plate covers the mid-body, and a third plate sits towards the tail. The red stops cleanly before the tail joint, leaving a crisp white finish, an odome that judges look for.
Skin and Colour
The red is deep, even and well defined across all three steps. The shiroji is bright and clean, and the pectoral fins are pure white. The strong contrast between red and white gives this Kohaku real presence in the pond.
Why Momotaro
Momotaro is one of Japan’s most respected Gosanke breeders. Their Kohaku are known for strong body shape, quality red and colour that keeps developing with age. At 41cm, this fish has plenty of growing ahead.
