Dainichi Kohaku – 44cm
A bold, bright Kohaku from Dainichi Koi Farm in Niigata, Japan, one of the most famous koi breeders in the world. Deep red, snow-white skin and a strong, eye-catching pattern.
The Pattern
A deep red plate covers the head, framed by a clean white nose. It flows into a large red plate across the shoulders and body, giving this fish real visual weight up front. Smaller red markings break up the white along the back and continue towards the tail.
Skin and Colour
The red is thick and even, darkest on the head and well defined at the edges. The shiroji is bright, snow white, and the pectoral fins are pure white. The strong contrast between red and white makes this Kohaku stand out in any pond.
Why Dainichi
Dainichi is renowned for powerful body shape and the size to become true jumbo koi. Their fish regularly take top honours at the All Japan Koi Show. At 44cm, this Kohaku has plenty of growing ahead.
