A male Maruhide Sanke with a notably Sumi-dominant character — the kind of dramatic, graphic Sanke that catches the eye immediately. The Sumi (black) is the lead element here, running down the back in heavy, well-developed clusters from shoulder through to the mid-body. The placement has confidence and structure rather than feeling random, which is the marker of a well-bred Sanke at this pattern intensity. The Hi (red) is bright and saturated, playing a supporting role broken up by the Sumi — patches of strong colour that anchor the pattern visually without competing with the black.
The Shiroji is clean and bright, providing the contrast that lets both Sumi and Hi read with full impact. The face shows a clean Hi mark with no head Sumi, which is the traditional Sanke trait that distinguishes the variety visually from Showa. The body is straight with good shoulders and clean conformation.
This is a strikingly different expression of the variety compared to lighter, more restrained Sanke — a fish for collectors drawn to dramatic, high-impact patterns.
