A male Momotaro Sanke with a distinctive light, scattered Sumi pattern — fine black clusters and dots sprinkled across the back and sides, rather than the bolder concentrated Sumi found on more traditional Sanke. This style of Sumi placement reads as more delicate and refined, and it’s a stylistic expression that appeals to collectors who prefer subtlety over drama.
The Hi (red) is bright and deeply saturated, wrapping the front of the body and head with a strong face/mouth Hi mark, balanced by a separate plate through the mid-body. The colour density is exactly what Momotaro is specifically known for — even tone, no patchiness, clean break edges where it meets the white. The Shiroji is exceptionally bright and unblemished, which is critical with scattered Sumi: the lighter the Sumi placement, the more the white has to carry the visual weight, and on a less clean Shiroji this pattern would read as muddied rather than refined.
The face shows a clean Hi mark with no head Sumi — the traditional Sanke trait that distinguishes the variety visually from Showa. The body is straight with good shoulders and clean conformation.
