Gin Goshiki | Kawakami | Female | Nisai | 40 cm | January 2026 Import
SKU: OGT-GIN-GOS-KAW-F-40-2601-004A female Gin Goshiki imported from Kawakami in January 2026 — a Nisai (2-year-old) fish at 40cm, which is strong early growth and a sign of good underlying bone and skin development. The Hi (red) sits saturated and clean across the back, broken by the characteristic Goshiki “fukurin” network — a fine indigo and dark grey reticulation that gives the variety its name (goshiki literally means “five colours”). The Gin Rin scales add a metallic, reflective sparkle through the Hi and across the network, catching the light differently as the fish moves. The head shows a striking round Hi mark — a clean, single dot of red that gives the fish real character and pulls the eye immediately.
The white finish on the head and underside is clean, and the body is well-proportioned with strong shoulders for a fish this age.Kawakami is a respected Niigata breeder with a particular reputation for Goshiki and Gin Rin work, and this fish is a good example of why — the network pattern is well-formed at Nisai stage, the Gin Rin is evenly distributed rather than patchy, and the underlying skin quality is what you’d want to see for continued development. At 40cm Nisai with this bloodline, she has significant growth and pattern refinement still to come — especially appealing for collectors who like to grow fish on and watch the Goshiki network mature.
